The Professional Diving Academy’s strategic partnership with Hydratight ensures that delivery of our Subsea Bolted Joint Integrity Course is to the very highest industry standards. Commercial Divers and Dive Supervisors who undertake this course will graduate with enhanced theoretical and practical understanding of the safe working procedures that must be adhered to when operating high pressure hydraulic bolt tensioning equipment in the subsurface environment. This training programme is greatly beneficial for stakeholders by reducing downtime potential due to procedural errors by unqualified diving personnel operating flange assembly/disassembly equipment on subsurface assets.
Legislation states that “the end user or employee should be provided with training in the use of the equipment they are expected to operate within their daily working environment,” this is the employer’s responsibility. The PDA is delighted to offer this comprehensive course to fullfill the employers requirements. The course is initialy delivered in topside before progressing sub-surface where divers will learn to operate equipment in open and highly restricted visibility conditions. The final day of the course is dedicated to assessing candidates practical and theoretical knowledge and those who achieve a pass on the written exam and practical assessment will receive a Hydratight/PDA certificate of training competence which is valid for 3 years. Participating in this course will underpin knowledge in the following areas: Theory: This training course provides a comprehensive theoretical program covering the safety/technical and operational elements of the equipment. Practical: The PDA is a well-established HSE/SQA accredited training academy, furnished with dedicated practical training rigs, including typical flange/clamp arrangements in a topside and subsurface environment, simulating offshore diving activities. Health and safety practices remain key and the PDA adheres to strict permit to work procedures which are associated with the use of this type of equipment. Who Should Attend: Experienced/inexperienced commercial air and mixed gas divers/supervisors who are presently working in, or wishing to work in, the offshore diving sectors.
